(08-28-2022) More news for RoD

Hey everyone! It's been a while, but we have some more news for Republic of Domolas now!

Since my last post, Lightshatterz (Kayke) has been working on the map. Although he has hardly made any progress for many months, last month he was able to release a "snapshot" version of what he had been working on. The version is likely to be unfinished, but as of when I am writing this I have not played the version yet. You can find the new version from his Twitter, or by opening the link from a new text file in my archive.

Due to personal reasons, I was unable to post about the new update until now. Since last year I had moved on from the project and forgot many details about it, and I have been busy with my new life over the last few months.

Unfortunately as of when I'm writing this I do not have the changelog for the new version, or any information about it apart from the sneak peeks. For details about the new version, please contact Lightshatterz as he is now in charge of the project. We will be discussing the future of the project soon.

(11-07-2021) A new announcement.

After a few months without any progress, we are happy to announce that Republic of Domolas is now alive again!

2021 has been a chaotic year for the Republic of Domolas team. Back in May I said that I will be leaving the team and that Paddlebus will take over my position as leader when I leave. Well, due to recent controversies over Paddlebus, we have decided to remove them from the team as well.

I have now given Kayke the position as leader of the team, and he has just started resuming work on the map. According to his current plans, the next update will be released in December 2021 or January 2022.

For further updates on the map, check out his Twitter and Instagram pages. As the map is now in his hands, this blog, as well as the fanpage, will soon be retired, but it will remain available. A new PlanetMinecraft download page will be provided when the next update is released.

Thanks for reading this announcement. Take care and be well!

(07-25-2021) The (actual) last update of Republic of Domolas that I worked on!

Republic of Domolas has now been updated! This is the last update that I worked on, and after this update, I won't be working on the map and someone else will become the leader of the project. Unfortunately, the subway system did not change this update, so there are no new subway maps. Even though that's not changing, let's see what is changing this update.

First, there are new freeway extensions across the map. Highway 401 is being extended north to Rigohar, replacing Highway 401B, and south to the Airport and Yendari. Highway 401A is being extended as well, west to the University.

In the Nether, new streets have also been built, which connects to most Nether portals, including the 5 new Nether access points at the Airport, the University, Green, Sunflower Bay, and Spruce Shore.

New streets are also added in Wynford and Mavromichalis provinces, which provide street access to all subway stations in Wynford Province and five in Mavromichalis Province. There are also some spectacular views that can only be seen from the streets.

Also added in this update include the dormitories at the University, a park containing many of the new 1.17 features, and a new exhibition in the Museum. Unfortunately, as I said earlier, there are no new addition or changes to the subway system.

(05-26-2021) Another important announcement.

Hello everyone! So, not long after the update was released in April, our plans have changed and Republic of Domolas is no longer ending soon. Instead, I will be leaving the development team. I have announced Paddlebus, who joined the team in late 2020, as the new leader of the project.

The next update will be in July 2021, and it is the last update which I am working on. The update will be quite small, with perhaps no changes to the subway system, but the map will be upgraded to Minecraft 1.17.

After July 2021, I will no longer work on the map. Other map partners, including Kayke and the new leader Paddlebus, will continue to work on and update the map. The map will continue to be available for download, but it will also be available as a server. Despite me leaving the team, Republic of Domolas will not be renamed.

The original download page on PlanetMinecraft will remain, but it may no longer be updated, and a new download page may be created for newer versions of the map. The blog and fanpage will also no longer be updated, and a new blog and fanpage may be created.

The tour video is not canceled. I am still working on it, and it will be uploaded to my YouTube channel soon.

Thanks for reading this announcement. Take care and be well!

(04-25-2021) The last update of Republic of Domolas

Republic of Domolas is now updated! Here are the new subway maps:

Domolas Metro

Kayke Railways

Metro Mabromiğałskje

Nether Railways

Paddlebus Metro

Wynford Transit

It's important to note that this is the last content update of Republic of Domolas due to reasons explained in the last post, and by the end of year, the map will no longer be officially supported.

With that out of the way, let's see what's in this update. In the northwest of Domolas Province, the University of Domolas opened. The campus area is located in Chyrith Region, around University station and the intersection of Uliend Drive and Thekor Avenue, which has now been extended to the area.

The two sections of Line K1 have been connected in this update. The middle section, which connects the two sections, runs in the ocean between Spruce Shore and Flashlight Bay, stopping at certain islands as well as Hydraulic Tower, located on an artificial island.

Two new ferry lines opened in this update. Diamond Islands Ferry Line 1 is part of the Diamond Islands Ferry in Kayke Province, and it runs between Spruce Shore and Vertvale Pier, stopping at some islands in between. The other ferry line, Groiven Ferry, runs between Oniramas, the first zombie village in the map, and the island of Groiven. The line is located entirely in Domolas Province, as Groiven is not located in Mavromichalis Province, but rather in Deaviel Region of Domolas Province, like the towns of Oniramas and Etheidus.

Just like other updates, there are also many expansions to the subway and street systems. Apart from the middle section of Line K1, lines D3, M3, N1, P1, W1, and W2 have also been extended. Line D3 now interlines with Line M4, and Line M3 now interlines with Line K3. There is also a new station on Line K3, and new subway lines include Line P2, Line W3, and a new branch of Line K1 in its eastern section.

As for streets, there are new streets in southwestern Kayke Province and eastern Mavromichalis Province, which connect to each other. There are also new streets in the southwestern regions of Domolas Province, including those that lead to the Town of Oniramas. Other new streets include the northward extension of Thekor Avenue, as well as new streets in the Wynford and Paddlebus provinces.

(03-29-2021) An important announcement. (NOT NOT APRIL FOOLS)

Hi everyone! Republic of Domolas, which is now almost two years old, will be ending soon. The map will receive a final update in mid-April, not long after its second anniversary, according to our current schedule, and official support for the map will end by the end of this year.

In recent times, my life has been getting busier and more stressful, and I have been losing interest in Republic of Domolas. I have made this decision to stop working on the project for my own health and well-being.

After the update in April releases, I may showcase the map in its final form in a video. When Minecraft 1.17 releases, the map may be updated to the new version, and both the 1.16 and 1.17 versions will be available.

No update is without bugs, and the update in April will be no exception. When the update releases, I encourage you to play the map and find bugs in it. Until the end of the year, the update will be reuploaded occasionally to fix bugs.

At the end of the year, when official support will end, the map will remain available for download, and some sites related it will remain online (including the PlanetMinecraft download link), but some other sites will be taken down.

"I have already lost some interest in it and it is now stressing me out, and there should be no reason to devote so much time on something that one is not interested in anymore to the point where it is stressing one out." - Domolas, December 2020

This is not an early April Fool's joke. Thanks for listening to this announcement! Take care of yourselves, and don't stress yourselves out. Stay safe!

(01-17-2021) The Museum, a new province, and lots of new streets!

Republic of Domolas is now updated! The map was in fact updated yesterday, but just like last time, I had to write this today. Here are the new subway maps:

Domolas Metro
Kayke Railways
Metro Mabromiğałskje
Nether Railways
Paddlebus Metro
Wynford Transit

Yes, there are 6 of them now. If you don't know why, there's a new province in Republic of Domolas in this update, and the new province, Paddlebus Province, is located to the north of Domolas and Kayke provinces and is home to Paddlebus's builds. Paddlebus is a new map partner who joined this update.

Also in this update, the Museum has finally opened! It is located in a custom dimension, which can be accessed from a room near Museum station. Various aspects of the map will be showcased in the Museum.

An overview of the Museum.

A new freeway has opened in Kayke Province as well. Kayke Highway 1 branches off Highway 401 just east of Windfall Valley and has interchanges at Mushroom Edge, Sunflower Bay, and Block 27.

A map of Kayke Highway 1.

And there have also been lots of new subway lines and extensions. This includes Line D5, which replaced the route of Line D2A and goes further east to Dreamer's Bight, and a northward extension of Line K7 and a new section of Line K1, which is not connected to the original section.

And just like any other update, there are also new streets. This time, many new streets have been added in southwestern Domolas Province and parts of Mavromichalis Province, as well as other places.

(11-08-2020) A new ferry line, a new stronghold, and new subway extensions!

Republic of Domolas was updated yesterday, but due to personal reasons, I had to post it here today. Let's take a look at the new subway maps:

Kayke Railways
Metro Mabromiğałskje

Wynford Transit
Nether Railways

This time, Domolas Metro isn't being updated, but a new subway operator, Nether Railways, is taking control of the Nether lines.

This update, the nomenclature of numbered subway lines between provinces has changed. Every provincial subway operator refers to their own numbered lines as 1, 2, 3, etc. without any preceding letter, but refers to other operators' numbered lines with a preceding letter (such as D, K, M, W, etc.).

But let's see what else has changed this update. First, I've devided to build a new ferry line connecting Faesien in Domolas Province and Záhodnostrzóvska in Mavromichalis Province. The aptly named Trans-Provincial Ferry is the first ferry route that serves either of the two provinces, and is the first ferry route built by me.

Záhodnostrzóvska Pier

And a new stronghold is made accessible not far from the area as well. Just a short ride north of Záhodnostrzóvska on a new extension of the Vetva Zatokna is the island of Groiven, where a new stronghold has been opened.

And speaking of subway extensions, there have been a lot of them this update. M1, M4, VZ, K5, W1, and N2... they've all been extended, whether eastward, westward, northward, or southward. And don't forget the new lines, Line K7 in Kayke Province and Line W2 in Wynford Province. And last but not least, there have been new expansions to the street system, which now serves areas that previously had no streets.

(09-06-2020) The Airport, a new province, as well as a lot more stuff!

Republic of Domolas is now updated again! Here are the new subway maps:

Domolas Metro
Domolas Metro (Nether)

Kayke Railways

Metro Mabromiğałskje
Wynford Transit

So, let's see what is new in this update. First, there is a new airport in Republic of Domolas! Domolas International Airport is located in southwestern Domolas Province, close to Mavromichalis Province, and can be accessed via Subway Line 4, Mabromiğałska Traca 1, or Mavromichalis Street.

Domolas International Airport

Also on Subway Line 4 between its former terminal of Etheidus and the Airport is Celibeth station, and also at Celibeth station is a new branch line, Faesien Branch Line. It goes from Celibeth, the transfer station with Subway Line 4, to a shattered savanna biome.

Faesien Branch Line

Another subway extension on Domolas Metro is the Subway Line 1 westward extension, which is not entirely in Domolas Province. It's not in the Kayke or Mavromichalis provinces, either. In fact, it is located in Wynford Province, a new province added in this update. But the extension is only 1 station long because it enters a new province, so instead, it interlines with Wynford Subway Line 1 (Line W1), the first subway line of the new province.

Line W1 platforms at Kalkara

New subway lines and extensions are also added in Kayke and Mavromichalis provinces. In Mavromichalis Province, Mabromiğałska Traca 4 (Line M4) and Vetva Zatokna are new. Line M4 runs between Dovolenóv on Line M2 and Green (Zjelennik) on a new part of Line M3. Vetva Zatokna, the first branch line in Mavromichalis, runs between Mavromichalis Central (Mabromiğałskij Centrum) on Line M1 and M2 and Záhodnostrzóvska on another new part of Line M3. In fact, Line M3 is extended east and west in this update, and it applies for Line M1 as well.

And in Kayke Province, Line K3, K4, and K5 are all being extended, K3 and K4 being extended north, and K5 being extended east. Many of the new additions to the street system are also in Kayke Province, and on the new streets are some new landmarks, such as Xanthe Drawbridge, Daniel's Strait Bridge, and Block 27.

(07-05-2020) A total reset of the Nether, plus new subway extensions, streets, and more!

Republic of Domolas has been updated again! Here are the new subway maps:
Domolas Metro

Domolas Metro (Nether)

Metro Mabromiğałskje
Kayke Railways
(unfortunately, Windfall Trams is not getting a new subway map this time.)

Now, let's look at some new features in this update of Republic of Domolas!

First, the Nether has been completely reset and rebuilt, and now you can go there from more locations! Nether Line N1 is still here, but it has been completely rebuilt (and now also goes to new locations), and its departure song has changed. And there's a new line, Nether Line N2, which also goes to new Nether locations.

Sedribwyn Plateau station
Abalebwyn station

Nether Central station
Qiraria station
Astelikin station

There are also some subway extensions back in the Overworld that I would like to showcase. Among these are the Subway Line 2B northward extension and Subway Line 4 southward extension.

Etheidus station
Rigohar area

Subway Line 2B northward
Subway Line 2B received its final northward extension to Rigohar, which is also accessible via the Nether. Subway Line 4 is extended south to Etheidus station, and it will be extended further south soon.

And in the Kayke and Mavromichalis provinces, new subway lines have been added. In Kayke Province is Kayke Line K5, which interlines with Subway Line 1 at Abalebwyn and goes east to Diamond City. In Mavromichalis Province, Mabromiğałska Traca 3 has been added, which goes from Astelikin to a new transfer station in the east called Magenta (or Fioletovnik in the native language).

And in all 3 provinces, the road system has expanded. In Domolas Province, new streets have been built in the snowy tundra area, Rhalitrem Region, and other areas including areas near Uliend, where the second drawbridge in Republic of Domolas has been built.

Unelide Drawbridge, the second drawbridge in Republic of Domolas
In Kayke Province, new streets have been built around the junglem including the first 5 ford crossings in Republic of Domolas. In Mavromichalis Province, the new streets follow Mabromiğałska Traca 1 west of Rožińcka, and Mabromiğałska Traca 2 south of Mavromichalis station, which has now been renamed to Mavromichalis Central.

Also, the first shop in Mavromichalis Province has been built, as well as the first shop in the Nether. But as always, there's going to be more things in this update that I didn't mention here, so go ahead and check out the map on PlanetMinecraft!

For more information, please check the history page.
